FAQs for Bama Bound
Will I receive a confirmation?
Admitted students are emailed when Bama Bound registration officially opens. An email confirmation is distributed following online registration and payment. If you have paid and did not receive a confirmation email, please contact the Office of Orientation and Special Programs.
Once you have registered and received a confirmation, you will receive additional emails that include a schedule and other important details regarding your Bama Bound session.
Is there a fee to attend Bama Bound?
The virtual orientation registration fee is $60 for freshmen and $40 for transfer students. The fee for a parent or family member is $40 for the first and no additional fees for additional family.
Payment for Orientation is required at the time of registration and is a nonrefundable fee.
Can my parent or family members attend?
Yes! UA hosts Parent & Family Orientation programs which are offered during most summer Bama Bound sessions. We warmly welcome parents, guardians and guests who wish to participate. Many sessions incorporated in Parent & Family Orientation integrate family members into some of the same workshops as Bama Bound students.
How do I get to campus and where do I park?
If your Bama Bound session is held on campus, you will receive a parking pass for the Ferguson Parking Deck in your Crimson Mail two weeks prior to your Bama Bound session.
For a detailed campus map, please visit ua.edu/map.
Where will I stay?
Students staying on campus during their Bama Bound Orientation session will reside in Ridgecrest South. Students will enjoy an apartment-style overnight experience with up to three other members of the incoming class. Students will have a private bedroom within each apartment suite. Visit the Ridgecrest South page on the Housing website for more information and visual images of Orientation housing.
Check-in for students staying on campus during Bama Bound will be between 3-6 p.m. at Ridgecrest South Residence Hall.
If you are staying overnight the night prior to your session’s begin date, please plan to check into Ridgecrest South Residence Hall between 3-6 p.m. on your scheduled date.
