The University of Alabama

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I receive anything in the mail?

Admitted students are mailed registration materials for Bama Bound beginning in February. Confirmations are mailed when online registrations are received in the orientation office.

Is there a fee?

The basic orientation registration fee is $115 for freshman programs and $75 for transfer and one-day sessions. This fee includes testing, academic advising, materials, postage, and a temporary dining card for meals at the Ferguson Center Food Court during Bama Bound.

Payment for Orientation is required at the time of registration.

How do I register?

Admitted students may register and submit payment for the appropriate session online by clicking here: Register online

Can my parent or family members attend?

A formal Parent Orientation program is offered during Summer Bama Bound programs.

We welcome parents who wish to accompany their students to their session. Parents can participate in many of the same workshops as students.

We discourage parent participation in Avanti counselor meetings and academic advising sessions, to allow each student the opportunity to establish an independent rapport with his or her Avanti counselor and departmental academic advisor.

How do I change my session?

To change your Bama Bound session to an alternate date, please complete the Session Change Form accessible through the Registration page (you will need to log in when you get there).

On the form, you will be given the available date(s) of other sessions from which you may select a suitable option. This form will be directed to Bama Bound staff who will work to accommodate your request if space permits.

If you have any questions, please contact us.
